Big slabs are their own kind of job.
A three-bay pole barn floor is a different job from a patio. It's more concrete, more trucks and a longer day, and the finish has to stay flat across the whole thing so equipment rolls, water drains to the doors and shelving sits level. We run a full crew and power trowels on every interior floor so the finish is consistent from the back wall to the apron.
Floors we pour
- Pole barn and machine shed floors, including the apron out the doors
- Shop floors, including under lofts and around posts
- Garage floor tear-out and repour for cracked, sunken or pitted slabs
- New-build garage slabs for builders and homeowners
- Heated floors: we pour over radiant tubing without disturbing the loops
- Shed pads, outbuilding pads and basement floors
Built for what's going to sit on it
Tell us what's going in: a tractor, a car lift, an RV, a woodshop or just the lawn mower. That decides the thickness and reinforcement. 4" reinforced works for most garages. Shops and barns that carry equipment get 6" or 8". Control joints are laid out so they don't run under a lift or across the middle of a work area.
Radiant heated floors
If you're heating the shop, the tubing goes in before the pour and the concrete goes in around it. We coordinate with your heating installer, protect the loops during the pour, and finish the slab like any other floor. A whole day on one of these is condensed into the time-lapse on our homepage.
Want a coating on top?
A new or existing garage floor can be finished with solid-color, flake or metallic epoxy. Epoxy resists oil, salt and hot-tire pickup, and it's much easier to sweep clean. See sealing & coatings.
