Older homes, tighter lots
Upper Arlington has some of the oldest housing stock in the Columbus suburbs, and that shows up in the concrete: narrow driveways between houses, detached rear garages, steep front steps, and walks lifted by the roots of big old trees. The work takes more care. Tear-out has to happen without damaging the house next door, forms go in along property lines, and trucks sometimes can't get close.
We plan access before the pour: where the truck sets up, whether we need a pump or buggies, and how to protect lawns and neighboring drives along the way.
Rebuilds and renovations
With so many homes being renovated or rebuilt, we also pour new driveways, walks and garage slabs for major remodels. When the concrete is part of a bigger project, we schedule our pour around the rest of the work so it isn't damaged by the other trades.
Steps and entries
Steep front steps with uneven rises are common on older homes, and they're a real trip hazard. We tear them out and form new steps with even rises and a proper landing at the door, in plain or stamped finish.
